VIPMOAA supported the largest number(41) of ROTC 2Lt Commissions at 3 ROTC  units- William & Mary College, Christopher Newport University, and Hampton University by welcoming them into the officers’ Corps and awarding them the MOAA 1 year Membership Certificate & their first set of Lieutenant bars.

Earlier in this scholastic year VIPMOAA initiated its mentor program with William & Mary College and Christopher Newport University cadets involving 10 VIPMOAA members.  A first for VIPMOAA’s ROTC support efforts.

The informal mentoring program with officers from VIPMOAA is still in development. The program focus is on pairing a senior Army ROTC cadet with an interested MOAA member and establishing an initial contact between the parties. How the mentorship develops, the scope of the mentorship and the nature of contacts would be is up to the individual mentors and the interest of their respective cadet.  A group session was held last Veterans' Day.  If you are interested in being a part of this initiative contact Col Norm Merski USA (Ret) at (757) 345-9352 merski1@cox.net or Col Ron Corson USA (Ret) at (757) 253-1311 jrcorson@aol.com.

VIPMOAA Chapter Scholarships
