COME RAIN, SLEET, SNOW & or the PANDEMIC - Our VIPMOAA ROTC & JROTC AWARD PROGRAMS CONTINUE TO MARCH FORWARD!

These past 2 years many Americans faced numerous challenges. And one of these challenges in VIPMOAA was its ROTC/JROTC Awards program. Helping the JROTC & ROTC (14 units) maintain viable  award programs during this challenging time was well done by  VIPMOAA  and of course by the  ROTC/JROTC units.  Guess what ? You as VIPMOAA members helped it a great deal last year in 2020 and will do it again in 2021. Your generous donations along with ROTC &JROTC cadre and VIPMOAA staff members maintained viable awards programs during this challenging time.

The JROTC/ROTC units using Zoom, VIPMOAA mailing alternatives and yes a few live programs got the job done. Although we didn’t use any of our VIPMOAA ‘live’ award presenters during this period, a number of our VIPMOAA members were standing by to help as needed. As always these award presenters played a major role in In the successes & helpfulness of the VIPMOAA Awards Programs. We will need you next year again. So hang tight.

And this year 2021, our award challenge increased as we now have the highest number of ROTC Cadets receiving 2LT commissions at the 3 ROTC colleges that we support. This commissioning number should reach 50+ new 2Lts. And out of these 50 + the majority scheduled will be female for the first time. Your generosity helped support this. Our Junior year cadet award is now $50 per awardee and the 3 College ROTC Junior year college junior year awardees get $200 each. Of course, your $500 scholarships at 11 JROTC units are very helpful for JROTC seniors. 

As your outgoing ROTC/JROTC Chairman I thank you for your time, donations, volunteer help, friendships that I enjoyed while serving on the Board as the ROTC/JROTC Chairman.  In the ROTC wings overseeing the ROTC and/ JROTC programs will be Justin Meinhart (former PM&S at W&M) and Ron Corson.
