You may mail-in or personally hand carry the Absentee Ballot to specific Drop-off locations. You may Vote Early In-Person September 18th – Oct 31st ONLY at specific locations.

Election day is Nov 3rd and all polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. To view your registration status, apply for an absentee ballot, identify election locations, and track your voted absentee ballot, please visit Virginia’s Department of Elections Citizen Portal

The deadlines for absentee ballots for the Nov 3, 2020 General Election:

  • Absentee ballot by mail application: 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2020.

  • Early voting: 5:00 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2020.

  • Absentee ballots returned to local general registrar’s office postmarked by: 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2020. (must arrive by noon on the third day following the election.)

Note: Your local general registrar’s office is open on Saturday, October 31, 2020, for early voting. Please check the hours of your local office as the Saturday hours may vary. Some localities provide additional locations for early voting.

Notice to voters using US mail service: the USPS delivery standards changed last year so that First Class delivery went from 1-3 days to 2-5 days and Standard delivery is now 2-9 days. Please keep this in mind, as the ballot must be received by your local general registrar no later than 12:00 PM on the third day following Election Day. Having the ballot postmarked by the deadline does not count if the ballot is still received after the deadline.

Absentee Ballots are in a colored envelop and has a USPS barcode for tracking at usps.com

Information regarding “in person” early voting is available from your election registrar.  You may wish to vote early to avoid encountering crowds at your polling place.
