On March 26, 2020, the Senate passed the Phase III  Coronavirus economic relief package, the CARES Act, to assist the economy through these difficult times. This legislation is designed to get financial assistance to the American people quickly by providing necessary relief through direct payments to working-class Americans and emergency loans to small businesses so that they can keep paying their workers.
