Emergency Preparedness – Plan ahead for Disasters

Make a plan today! Your family may not be together when a disaster strikes. Know how to contact each other and reconnect if you are separated. Establish a family meeting place.  Put together an emergency kit, don’t forget to include supplies for pets and seniors.  Being prepared means having your own food, water and other supplies to last at least 72 hours.  Print this Basic Disaster Supply Kit.   Build your emergency kit by adding a few supplies every week or month. Some emergency supplies are eligible for Virinia's tax free weekend. See VA Emergency Management website.
