      WAYNE JEFFERSON USAF Maj Gen RETIRED

      Wayne Jefferson graduated from the Air Force Academy’s first class in 1959. He flew B-52’s in the Cuban Missile Crisis; studied EE in the Technical University of Munich as an Olmsted Scholar; flew T-33’s with the Luftwaffe; pilot at the AF Special Weapons center, flying the B-52, B-47, and T-33. He went to Vietnam and flew 332 combat missions in the UC-123K Ranch Hand Squadron. Attended the Air CG≻ taught Economics and Mgt at USAFA; with advanced studies at Stanford University. Was on the faculty of the National War College and graduated in 1976; assigned to the Air Staff; a B-52H/KC-135 Wing Cdr at Grand Forks, ND; Director of the SAC underground CP at Omaha. At NATO HQ for C3 responsibilities; then at the Pentagon as JCS Deputy J-6 (Communications) and retired in1989. He and his wife, Bonnie, moved to Wintergreen, VA in 2001 and recently moved to Patriots Colony in 2018.
